Innovation

Our love of tradition and research into it has not prevented us from incorporating all the latest technological innovations in our products. On the contrary, it has given us just the right drive to design and develop new ideas, essential to present day living. Nowadays it would be unthinkable to drive a car built in the early 1900s on the motorway, both for safety and environmental reasons. In the same way “La Castellamonte” stoves are not just attractive, traditional objects, but must englobe exacting safety and energy-saving standards.

“La Castellamonte” stoves are made with an eye both to traditional Castellamonte craftsmanship and to specific state-of-the-art technology and safety regulations.

Our cast-iron fire-boxes, which are guaranteed never to crack, are built with assembled elements that provide the flexibility required to support substantial expansion caused by the heat, and are lined with special refractory bricks produced in our laboratories. Our stoves include cast-iron and steel heat exchangers, optional forced air fans (worked by remote control) and easy-view doors in cast brass and fire-proof glass. An excellent combustion system with primary and secondary air resulting in 75/80% thermal efficiency, and extremely low carbon monoxide emission into the atmosphere (0.1%), as shown by the results of tests carried out in our laboratory, is in keeping with the strictest European and International Regulations for safeguarding the environment. Our stoves are tested at the Department of Energetic of the Polytechnic of Turin based on norm EN 13240 and certified by the IMQ primacontrol.

Our way of thinking over the years has always been that industry can work hand in hand with nature and the environment.

This is where the craftsman’s strength lies: in tradition, art and innovation.

The stove casings
The stove casing is entirely in glazed fire-clay, and is extremely resistant to thermal expansion, thanks to our special washed clay mixtures.
Our construction methods are typical of craftsmen over the years, as much of the work is done by hand.
The outward appearance of each stove has been designed with particular care and traditional Castellamonte decorations have been used.
A choice of two or more casings is available for some of our stoves.
We offer 24 basic colours, but there is a vast range of further colours and decorations with which to personalise your stove.
